Pete Caputo is a seasoned leader in the construction industry, currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Operations at Truebeck Construction. With over 25 years of experience, Pete has been at the forefront of driving innovation in the built environment, particularly in healthcare and commercial office sectors. He has successfully managed a portfolio of projects exceeding $4 billion, consistently pushing the boundaries of what is possible in construction through strategic thinking, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence.

Pete is passionate about leveraging new technologies and methodologies to improve project delivery and sustainability across the industry. His leadership is characterized by a focus on persistent innovation, solution-oriented approaches, and fostering collaborative relationships that drive meaningful change. As a board member of the Center for Innovation, Pete brings a deep understanding of how to navigate complex challenges and a vision for advancing the industry towards a more efficient and sustainable future

Dean Reed led DPR Construction’s Lean Construction for over 24 years and was awarded the Lean Construction Institute’s Pioneer award in 2021. He is a co-author of the book, Integrating Project Delivery, published by Wiley in 2017. He founded the consultancy, Capability-Building, in 2021 after retiring from DPR to help companies shift from management by results/numbers to focus on the means for improving the delivery of built products.

Within the design profession, she has earned great respect for her tenacious advocacy and encouragement to continually strive for design excellence, resulting in numerous project design awards at the University of Washington. One of her proudest accomplishments is the vision and insight she provided over a ten-year timeframe, resulting in the revitalization of the lower Rainer Vista, an iconic and campus-defining landscape.

Marina Roelofs

Marina has served as the University of Michigan's executive director for Architecture, Engineering and Construction since 2000. The department is currently responsible for designing and constructing all capital projects at the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses in support of the university’s academic, research, healthcare, athletic, and student life missions. The AEC team consists of architects, engineers, construction professionals & skilled trades, and support staff. Roelofs' wide-ranging experience in the construction industry spans from design and construction management to facilities operations and construction contracting. Before coming to U-M, she was the assistant vice president for facilities at the University of Toledo. She was responsible for directing and managing the university capital program and the facilities maintenance activities. Roelofs' career in the construction industry began over forty years ago at General Motors Worldwide Construction. In her 15 years at GM, she managed numerous Construction projects for various GM divisions, directed processes for the management of the project, directed resolutions of claims, and participated in the Business Roundtable Construction Industry Cost Effectiveness Program.

Patricia is a Senior Manager for Lean Project Development at the Boldt Company. She is driven by a desire to maximize value generation in the construction industry. Having both academic and industry backgrounds, Patricia helped owners, general contractors, and trade partners in different countries to adopt collaborative practices that aim to improve project performance and maximize value delivery. Patricia has a degree in Architecture and Urbanism, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Management.

Semiha Ergan

Dr. Semiha Ergan is a faculty member at the Department of Civil and Urban Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering at New York University, and an associated faculty at CUSP. With her background in civil engineering, data science, and building informatics, she works on improving buildings’ performance during the design, construction, and operation phases. She leads the Building Informatics and Visualization Lab (biLAB), where she actively seeks data-driven and model-based solutions to operational challenges associated with the construction and operation of civil infrastructure systems, with an emphasis on buildings. Her work has been supported by DOE, NSF, DARPA, and private organizations.

Atul is the CTO and a member of the Leadership Team at DPR Construction. In this role, he oversees the Construction Technology, Information Technology, and Innovation Groups at DPR. These groups are responsible for the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), Operations and Preconstruction Technologies, strategic technology initiatives, Innovation, Research & Development, and consulting.

Atul collaborates extensively with academia and leading research groups around the world exploring issues related to Integration, Lean Construction, and VDC to move the industry forward. Atul is a co-author of a book called “Integrating Project Delivery” published by John Wiley & Sons in April 2017.

Atul has a Ph.D. in Construction Engineering and Management, focused on Integrated Practice, VDC and Lean Construction, from Stanford University and has a Master’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Duke University, Durham NC.

Atul is an avid traveler and cricket enthusiast. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and daughter. When not working he is either exploring a different part of the world on one of his many travel adventures or on a sports field somewhere either playing or coaching.
